Profile Information

What is the name of your access center?
Citizens Community Television (CCTV54)
Center's Phone and Address?
303-666-6558 info@CCTV54.org 1075 E. South Boulder Rd., Suite 215, Louisville, CO 80027
Center's Website:
http://CCTV54.org
Number of channels and type, P,E,or G?
One Public Access TV channel 54.
(I'm hoping to apply for a second channel that our local city's franchise alloted for, if we can fill up our channel well enough before long.)
Years of operation?
The CCTV54 group started around the beginning of 2004. We started our new TV studio, (separate from Comcast ownership), in late 2006.
Number of subscribers?
Max. potential of approx. 40,000 cable TV viewers in our territory, or roughly 16,000 cable TV subscribers.
Operating budget? Where does the funding come from?
Operating on a limited seed grant from Comcast franchise settlement for the next year or so, at which point we need to raise much more funds to keep the TV studio open. We've been so busy getting the TV station running smoothly that we've not made enough time to raise the necessary funds so far. We obtain a modest amount from membership and Underwriters mainly, where I think that greatly increasing Underwriter support is a main strategy. So far, it has been too much work for the little Grant money ($2K) we've received, unless we know how to do it more effectively. Cities have not been cooperative so far for additional PEG$ and none for operational $, as their Gov't TV says it needs it all.
Budget can range from $20K to $30K, (with no staff or anyone paid).
Length of current franchise and expiration date?
Franchise started mid-2006 & expires in 9/14/2016, (if my reference is correct).
Main income sources?
See previous box.
Number of paid staff?
0
Playback system? Princeton, tightrope, etc (include as much info as you can about equipment or technology you use)
Leightronix Nexus with inputs including one good DVD deck, one mini-DV deck (that can be patched from the studio director station) and two old SVHS decks, plus one 500 gig hard drive. Also input PowerPoint slides for between shows, including a constant CD player for concurrent music during the slides. Naturally, the live studio can input into the Nexus also. We usually load outside videos per DVD, (but I think it is MPEG3 or something similar that loads much faster).
